Add a cookie consent notice

It's possible to enable a cookie consent notice for your ClubWeb site. This is a special page that new visitors will see before they can enter the website. On the page there is the option to view "Settings", where different "cookie purposes" can be found.

To enable the cookie constent notice, go to "ClubWeb Info > Settings" in Admin:

  1. Enable cookie consent notice (Yes/No)
If enabled, all visitors will be redirected to the cookie page first.
  2. Cookie notice from My Page (Yes/No)
If enabled, a special "My Page" will be added (at "My Pages") with the introduction text of the cookie notice page, so you can customize this content.

You can always find the cookie notice page via [your-domain]/cookies (e.g. https://support.visualclubweb.nl/cookies). You can also link to this page from your footer text for example, so users can find and review their cookie settings easily.

Cookie purposes

By default, your website will only store cookies to login and sometimes to store preferences ("Basic functionality").

An overview of the purposes:

  1. Basic functionality
To login and to store your preferences.
  2. Basic analytics
If you are using Google Analytics, we always register the script with the AnonymizeIP option enabled. We also assume that you.ve setup Analytics without user tracking. Doing so, this option/purpose is only to inform visitors.
  3. Embedded external content
    • On the homepage of a regular ClubWeb site it's possible to add a "Custom HTML" item. For example to add a Facebook widget or to add a weather item to your homepage. This is external content and will use third party cookies for which visitor consent may be needed.
    • You can also add a YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook video to a page or news item. This also involves loading external content on your website and third party cookies.
    • Do you have the text editor option to switch to the "Source" of the page or news item? Then you sould also use another form of embedding external content.

The first cookie purpose options are always active. As a visitor, you can decide if you want to have the option "Embedded external content" enabled. If this option is not enabled, it may be that some content can't be loaded as usual. In that case a message will be shown to indicate the external content can't be shown. There is also a link to the cookie notice page so users can review there choice immediately if needed.

This is the message that visitors will see instead of the original embedded content:
