Add a weather item to your homepage
In this example we are using an embed script of accuweather.com. But you can use an "embed code" from any other website as well (as long as the other website is on https as well). Please be aware that loading scripts from other websites could slow down your website. Also, some level of tracking could be used by the external website/service that is used.
- Go to https://www.accuweather.com/en/free-weather-widgets/current
- Click "Fixed Location" and enter the location you want to use at "Choose Location..."
- Select the language you want to display the item at "Select a language"
- Change the unit type if needed (°F or °C)
- Now choose the image size ("Small" or "Medium" is recommended)
- At the bottom of the page you will have to agree to the Terms & Conditions, then choose "Grab the Code"
- Click "Select Code" and press Ctrl-C on your keyboard to copy the embed code
- Now login to your website and go to "Admin"
- Click "Homepage layout" at Home
- Click "Add item" at the right-hand column
- At "Item type", choose "Custom HTML"
- Enter a title like "Weather"
- At "HTML", paste the code into the text area by pressing Ctrl-V (or right-click > Paste)
- Click "Save" to save the item
- If needed you can change the position of the item via the blue arrow icons
